Afternoon Note

No Fireworks

By Charles Payne, CEO & Principal Analyst

The market is in wait and see mode, but it's not sure what it's waiting to see. There weren't any fireworks during Barr’s testimony in front of the Senate Finance Committee, but everyone seemed sufficiently angry (Senator Warren once again set the high mark).

Small caps are picking up steam from yesterday, as they try to steady a ship that was sinking fast.

Consumer confidence came in higher than expected, but it’s no great shakes.

I see drifting into the close, which will be a good test for those that bought the dips, as we are seeing some profit-taking in tech this week.
