This is a nice start to the week.  The market opened lower, amid the concerns that weighed on stocks last Friday, but major indices turned higher.

I’m not sure how much of the reversal is attributable to ISM Manufacturing, but it was significant. This was the best read since 2022, powered higher by new orders. Every media story on this ended with, “but the tariffs.”

It seems to have sparked a ripple that has created a tide lifting all boats.

Meanwhile, the leadership board includes many familiar names.

The question is, can these once old and stodgy names keep going up?

I think the answer is “yes.”
