Afternoon Note
We are very close to the end of the current market meltdown.
Based on what I have lived through (I began on the Street in 1985), and from what I‘ve studied , this washout is just about to be done.
As the markets were being driven down by Trump’s comments about fresh tariffs beginning, immediately the algorithms’ traders took over and major indices slid. But they are coming back.
The selling has been lunacy.
It nowhere matches, even, the greatest potential economic impact.
Meanwhile, market breadth has held up all session long.
There is no doubt this market is a coiled spring.
I think we will see a monster upside session of 2% to 3% rallies as major indices lift off their 200-day moving averages.
