Today is Kevin Warsh's first FOMC meeting as Fed Chair - will he be able to remind the Fed that it is more responsive to Main Street or will it remain so in the pocket of Wall Street?

In the 1984 movie classic “The Natural,” Roy Hobbs, played by Robert Redford, steps to the plate in the final game, riddled with injuries but still belts a majestic walk-off home run into the stadium lights.

Today, Kevin Warsh steps up to the plate, and folks on Main Street and Wall Street are hoping he hits a home run, although in recent years the market has struck out on the first day for new Chairs.

First, we’ll get a look at the FOMC statement – three things we need to learn about right away.

I’m pumped about the Warsh Era.

I’m covering this on Making Money – a historic day.

He's still going to be in the Wall Street pocket. I'd like to think we have a Main St person in any of these agencies, however, once in, the system corrupts them to bend.

Warsh will remind the Fed to be more responsive to Main Street but many of the existing Fed members won't get it and will continue to sleep in the bed they have made. We need a few more new members of the Fed that understand supply side economics.

Probably not at this time, the evil specter of Powell will still be present
