You can cut the anxiety with a knife. Markets are lower ahead of Jay Powell speaking at 1:30 and taking questions as well. 

The JOLTs report came in about as expected, and that was disappointing, as the market wants to see far fewer job openings. The report is two months old and skewed by the quits but has taken on more importance under Powell's stewardship of the Federal Reserve. 

The street would also like to see far fewer quits. 

It's all about the waiting for now.
