It was another strong week for the market, and the excuses are running thin. The clock is closer to a breakout to new highs, propelled by panic buying from the smartest folks in the room. Technology (XLK) set the pace, powered higher by earnings, followed by Energy (XLE), powered by a rebound in oil prices. Eclectic Leaderboard
Secondary semiconductors enjoyed a strong week as they moved out of the shadows of much larger and more popular names.
The consumer was in focus, and while retailers' actions in the stock market were hit or miss, this suggests that people are still shopping and going on cruises.
Verdict on the Economy
Cyclical stock dominance reflects the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 2.5%, but the Street, including Goldman Sachs (GS), sees 1.0%.
