It was another brutal week for the stock market with very little green on the screen.

Market breadth was an abomination as the new 52-week lows column piled up like the Tower of Babel.  And it’s clear everyone understands the message(s) of this market.

In April, the book closed with another thunderous market selloff that put the month in the record books:

• The carnage is magnificent
• Globally equities lost $2.7 trillion
• The S&P 500 is off to the worst start to a year – ever!  The 13.3% drawdown is also the third largest in history
