After Friday’s huge positive employment report surprise, the modern investing era debate over good news being bad news and vice versa reared its head. The market opened under significant pressure, only to see losses chipped away and major indices that finished the week at record highs.

Despite the crazy volatility and constant reports of an economic implosion, the stock rally’s demise has made it difficult to stay completely long this year, as the first half has been remarkable. Technology has been a big surprise for several reasons, and one of the reasons is being stuck in the middle of the trade battle between the United States and China.
