Gas cookers began replacing wood-burners around 1915, and in 1939, radio comedians picked up the phrase “Cooking with gas,” including Bob Hope. It is said that the writer who wrote the line later gained employment in the gas industry, which took the phrase and ran with it. Don’t look now, but the U.S. stock market is on fire. Green Across the Screen All eleven S&P 500 (SPX) sectors finished the week higher. Health Care (XLV) finally came on, but it wasn’t the big household names driving the action. Earnings beats for IQVIA Holdings (IQV) and West Pharmaceutical Services (WST) triggered a wave of Wall Street ratings upgrades.
