Wall Street Memo: “Sell in May.” Not only did May crush it, but the sectors Wall Street told investors to sell also outperformed. Wall Street memo: “Always follow the smart money.” I have no idea how they do it, but hedge funds command 20% of profits and 3 % administrative fees. From 2014 to 2024, they significantly underperformed the stock market. Once again, the smartest guys are way offside and have to scramble to cover short positions. Wall Street Memo: Never buy stocks with price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio above 25. Financial analysts and the financial media have always been consumed with the idea that a “cheap” price-to-earnings ratio equals opportunity.
