Economic Checkup

The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Service survey came in better than expected, but there were lots of flags.

Negative

• Production
• Prices

Positives

• New Orders
• Employment

The next round of economic data will have more tariff impact, but overall, the hard data keeps coming in better than expected, and there is a story there that shouldn’t be ignored.

The resolve of the U.S. economy has always shocked experts.

Interestingly, corporations are still flush with cash (so much that they are buying record amounts of their stock), and personal bankruptcies are very low.

But the experts insist on a summer of a recession.
