The market was spooked on “news” of sky-high inflation and a record low consumer sentiment. Headline: Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 8.6% from a year ago, and the core was 6.0%.

The Michigan Consumer Sentiment tumbled to 50.2; the Street was looking for 58.0. It’s never been this low.
