There used to be a time when investors bought and held stocks, and simply lived or created wealth from fat dividend yields. That was a long time ago. The S&P 500 yield is now 1.29%. So, forget about finding Nemo; investors are desperate to find the yield. In addition to being woefully low, the S&P 500 dividend yield has tumbled to an all-time low when adjusted for inflation. This is forcing some investors to take on additional risk, but it also means those ideas that can grow principal and pay hefty yields are keepers.
