What a wild week for the market. It was the kind of week needed to get through to the other side of calm. That is not to be confused with a snap-back return to a galloping bull market but instead a steadier pace. The violent reactions to earnings culminating with the biggest single-session loss (Facebook) and biggest single session gain (Amazon) should moderate. However, when the dust settled, the net gains were the story.
