It was brutal, and despite the attempts to recover, the market was doomed last week as soon as Fed Chairman Jay Powell turned into the Grinch when it was expected he would be continuing to be Uncle Santa for investors through the end of the year. 

The revelation of tapering wrapping up sooner hit like a bucket of cold water on a market that already knew tapering was coming, but had to come to grips that it will be over a few months sooner.
