A Couple of Tip-Offs at Madison Square Garden

Who says you can't do stock analysis while you're watching SportsCenter? In hindsight, if you're a sports fan you could have caught this one with Madison Square Garden (MSG) up 9% so far this year. As it turns out, the Knicks are actually good this year after what seems like ages of over-spending and under-achieving. Carmelo Anthony is a front-runner for MVP this year as New York stands second place in the East behind the Heat.

Add to that a long-awaited agreement in the NHL lockout that will have the Rangers back on the ice. Not only will there be a hockey season, but the final deal may have leaned in the owners' favor, who will take a 50% split of revenue versus 43% previously.

Perhaps they can in fact fill all the seats after those fancy new renovations to the stadium.
