Musk Makes His Move

All of a sudden real estate and utilities are hot as financials have begun to struggle. The more defensive tone to the market is coming at the expense of value and growth but more so the former.

For the week:

Defensive

Friday’s Session

Energy is tough.  Oil price has held up and there are persistent calls for $150 a barrel.  Note: stocks still need buyers and there is a boycott that does care about growth potential or profitability in the oil patch.

Heat Map

Mega Cap led the way although tech and communication services weren’t spectacular by any stretch.

Today’s Session

More shock from the War on Ukraine as the town of Bucha is now said to be the scene of horrific war crimes as mass graves of civilians have been unearth.  I’m not sure what it means for the war itself as the west promises even more sanctions which haven’t worked thus far.

On the market front, the news of the morning is Elon Musk taking a 9.0% stake in Twitter.  This could be a victory for free speech if Musk goes on buying enough stock to wrest control of operations which have descended into a mass censorship of voices on the right.

It looks like a sloppy start at the open.  I’m eager to be aggressive but respect where the market is in an odd space here.

He will do a better job at an open forum than what is happening now! Bring it on.

I totally agree. Without free speech, we only have limited freedom.

It's GREAT to have a " Port in the Storm" Charles and you're the Guy! Thank you for being here for us! Go Elon!

If Elon can open it up to all voices then I'm all for it. But even now Twitter can be a pretty brutal forum. Hopefully he could figure out how to keep at least a modicum of civility while letting people voice their views. He's gotta figure out where to draw the line. Made even more complicated considering Twitter is worldwide.

Love Elon Musk ...
STOP THE COMMUNIST CENSORSHIP OF TWITTER

The idea of an unmoderated Twitter reminds me of something Mark Twain said.
"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is still getting its boots on."
Unmoderated speech gave us January 6th. Surely Musk sees that.

While I don't follow Twitter personally, I think it is great Musk has bought in, and, as a large stockholder may have some influence on information being suppressed. I have quit watching anything on the major networks because of their lying, and disinformation.

I am thrilled that Elon Musk bought the controlling shares of Twitter. Someone has to stop the censorship and Marxist ideology. The 3 top social companies cost us an election and destroying our values. It is erasing the civil rights works of Dr. MLK sowing division and instilling class warfare. I feel for Trump (Truth) and Mike Lindell (Frank) spending money to give us a voice.

Great Job, Elon. Looking for some free speech going forward.
