Afternoon Note

Riding the Wave

By Charles Payne, CEO & Principal Analyst

Those that know and have followed me for a long time know I love these kinds of market gyrations.

The part I do not like is when people begin to panic. I wish I could give them all a hug and tell them it is going to be fine.  I was articulating our approach better, but it nudges me to be better.

Anxiety is natural in general. There are reasons to be worried such as all the money printing, the ripped fabric of our nation and how badly our unity is unraveling, as other nations become more focused on taking our place on the podium.

We saw that anxiety and ripped fabric in today’s consumer sentiment reading from the University of Michigan.

The 76.8 read is slightly up from January but down almost 25% from a year ago.

United States Consumer Sentiment

Households with incomes below $75,000 have become less optimistic about the future and non-college grads are really losing faith quickly.

I don’t think the rally is over. I see an avalanche of money moving the needle enough you are going to want to ride the wave. We can go back and consider a pity party.  All kidding aside, I urge you to stay strong.

Thank you Charles, your encouragement and experience are appreciated. I’m using the strategies I am learning in your book and weekly perspective as I finally have entered I
The markets. I am 60 years old and was afraid of the markets; however, starting small I am now in the pool. This was my first punch in the mouth, but because of you I am able to fundamentally evaluate my next move.

Again, thank you Charles...Jeff Kulhanek

To quote a famous American, President Reagan, when asked about the down market," The markets goes up and the market goes down!" I might add a bit! Don't gamble anywhere! If you have money in the market don't allow it to be money you need to live on for the next 5 to 10 years!

This is where the real money is made in my humble opinion

Someone far more experienced than I advised me to "accommodate the market."
When everybody wants to buy, sell.
When everybody wants to sell, buy.
