Afternoon Note
Please watch ‘Making Money With Charles Payne’ on Fox Business – tonight at 6PM ET, my special guest is GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump.
I often report the market endeavors to shake out the weak sisters, brothers, uncles etc. It’s not Darwinian, but instead, the puppet masters that have learned to manipulate the short term mentality of the market. This session may be one for the textbooks on just how it’s done. Right now, the reversal is already on track to be the biggest in four years.
There’s a chance the effort could fade, and we tumble again into the close but, I think it’s clear that all the sideline money has been awakened. Key support levels held even as there was a flight to the safety of bonds, and to a lesser more apocalyptic extent, gold and silver. To be sure, the jobs report was a disaster and there’s no way the Fed can hike rates. On that note, perhaps the market already knew that and it was built in to a certain degree.
The Fed can’t control or influence labor force participation, which slumped 350,000 last month. It’s directly tied to poor fiscal policy and the creation of the Welfare Utopia.
We also got a read on manufacturing with August factory orders dropping 1.7% from a 0.2 increase in July. This was the largest decline in eight months, when orders dropped 3.7%. Weakness in major categories that monitor business spending as well as a decline in demand in commercial airplanes attributed to the drop.
I will have a lot more on this next week, but for now, understand the economy is bogged down from fiscal policy and the war on success.
My interview with Donald Trump was postponed because of that horrifying community college rampage. God bless the families and students.
The interview with Trump is back on and it makes the news in many areas.

Take down those signs that read: "gun free zone". For starters. These shooters are rational. They go to where they know the victims are unarmed. Al M. on 10/2/2015 4:25:26 PM |
Why do we have "ARMED GUARDS" protecting money in trucks, but NO armed guards protecting youngsters in school???? Don Olsen on 10/2/2015 7:42:47 PM |
Charles, I disagree with your commenr regarding the Fed can't control or influence job participation. I took this (Fed) word as ( govt. in general). Being in the medical field I see everyday where the govt has increased the number of non-participants in the job market. So many of my patients would rather collect unemployment, or benefits from medicare, disability, etc. than get up and work 30-40 hrs/week. As this increase the Fed deficit it also takes away from those that need these services. The jobs # needs to be changed to the participation rate rather than the unemployed numbers. Then we would have the real unemployment figure. Looking forward to your talk with the Donald. Rick on 10/3/2015 8:40:14 AM |
