CompUSA seen showing risks facing niche chains - Reuters.com

ATLANTA, Dec 10 (Reuters) - The expected closures of CompUSA stores likely signals tough times for other niche electronics retailers as bigger players like Best Buy Co and Wal-Mart Stores Inc expand, analysts said on Monday.

"Niche players that once dominated the retail landscape will cease to exist longer-term," said Brian Sozzi, a retail analyst with Wall Street Strategies. "There is simply not enough room in the market for a company that specializes in one product."
