Is Your Portfolio Tuned for Maximum Performance?

Many investors aren't sure what to buy. At Wall Street Strategies we have a methodology for diversification and portfolio management that guides our subscribers in building a portfolio.

Making Our System Your System

Each day our subscribers receive investment ideas and follow up trading alerts. Our alerts include those that suggest taking profits, readjusting share price targets, taking losses, readjusting stop loss points or simply sharing information like the release of earnings.

These investment ideas and trading alerts dovetail with our proprietary Portfolio Notes. The Portfolio Notes are updated whenever there is a change in our sector allocation or weighting.

How to Use the Portfolio Notes

We aren't presenting a stock dartboard; our methodology includes diversification and portfolio management.

When you consider entering or exiting a position take a moment to review your existing holdings and the asset allocation model in the Portfolio Notes.

If we mention five tech stock, two utilities, two defense, three retailers, four emerging growth ideas, five energy and three ideas from miscellaneous industries over the course of month and you only own five tech stocks then you aren't using Wall Street Strategies. One of the biggest mistakes subscribers make is not doing ideas that they are not familiar with or don't like because they lost money there before.

In an effort to achieve balanced portfolios and assist our subscribers in avoiding harmful habits, such as loading up in a single sector or industry, we have presented the table below as a guide. Each portfolio is different, but all need balance.

Typically, we have several open ideas that can apply to each of the sector column. Each position represents roughly 6% to 7% of the total portfolio.
  • The top line is the sector
  • The second line is the industry
  • The third line represents our conviction level
  • The fourth line is a guide as to how aggressive investors should be
WSS Position Tracker System

We have created a Tracker System available on our website that allows subscribers to place their positions in a place they could be monitored. We have been able to help so many people with poor investing habits by monitoring the Tracker that we actually consider it an educational tool.

WStreet Portfolio Notes, November 20, 2007

Our overweight in oil and gas is working out tremendously as there is good chance crude could finish the week well above $100.00 a barrel. Gaming is under pressure from a negative article in Barron's but our analyst is still very bullish. Our homebuilder position was up now it's under pressure but if one could hold for six months we see huge upside. WFMI posted a strong number and this could actually become a safe haven stock. Please have cash and be prepared to put it to work.
